Generative Art

Generative Art // NFTs

Using Processing

In my second-year digital media course, the students are introduced to generative art and NFTs. We explore two programs: Processing (Java) and p5js (JavaScript).

First, we go through a selection of generative art examples and discuss what NFTs are: both the pros and the cons.

In Processing, we use the open-source library called GenerateMe to take our own images and play with the code to create generative photographs.

Next, we search the web for p5js examples and use the code in p5js to learn about the coding community and test another software.

Lastly, I show them how to mint an NFT on Rarible and talk about creating a wallet.
