Of Visions

In 2022, the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council funded the beginning of a multi-year dance project. We will be adapting my book All Sky, Mirror Ocean to tell a story of mania, time, and healing.

In our research phase, we will be working in two groups to develop sections of the dance and subsequent film. Dancer Vanessa Goodman (Action at a Distance), composer Jonathan Kawchuk, cinematographer aAron Munson, and I will work together on Vancouver Island on initial research.

In Edmonton, dancer Brian Webb, composer Gary James Joynes, and I will record a dance in a motion capture studio to bring it into a digital world and record it as a 3D-rendered dance.

We will use this footage to create an artificial intelligence dance film to be released with my book and speaking tour in the spring of 2024.
