Speculative Psychiatry

In development work with Dan Harvey—Eve 2050 is a multidisciplinary project based in Montreal, QB and Edmonton, AB, between Corps Secrets and the University of Alberta. In it, our research team is investigating what sorts of bodies will we have in the year 2050. Dan Harvey and I will be exploring the impacts of climate change on our psyches and how the medical discipline of psychiatry will have to adjust to incorporate mental health conditions caused by extreme weather events. We will be taking a multi-modal approach working between speculative writings, sculpture, sound, video, and plastics. We will be travelling to sites vulnerable to extreme weather to document them—to bare witness. This project will develop over the course of 2018-20.
